I have been hairdressing for over 30 years now. In that time, I’ve worked in prestigious salons in London and Brighton, run my own salons in Australia, then in 2017, I settled in North Devon to open The River Rooms.
Central to my philosophy for hair is my practice of Qi Gong, a Taoist Chinese form of exercise which allows a person open up to themselves, their true nature, and to their surroundings, in a balanced way. I like to think I bring this ideal into my expression of hair and the possibilities of where it can take an individual. To me, the word ‘individual’ is of essential importance as that is where it all begins and continues to evolve. In finding your new style, we can temper and tailor any look to accentuate your own perception of self, not becoming lost in what is deemed fashionable. I always look to create something individual to you.

I have been in practice since 2004 when I qualified in Acupuncture at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine. Over the years, I have worked in clinics in Oxfordshire, London and Surrey before joining The River Rooms in 2017. While acupuncture is known for treating a wide range of conditions, my aim is to treat the person and not just the symptoms.
I am constantly inspired by this wonderful, profound system of medicine and its capacity to heal and restore health on all levels: mentally, emotionally as well as physically. When not working, I love exploring the wild North Devon coast, reading novels by the fire and practising Qi Gong and the internal martial arts, especially with good friends from our international school.I'm here:

Atsuko was born and brought up in Japan. She studied yoga extensively in London in 1990’s.
She mainly studied Ashtanga yoga and Iyenger yoga, but she also studied with other teachers with different backgrounds.
She started teaching in London in 1995 and then moved to Bideford, North Devon, a year later where she has continued to teach in many settings and to private students.
Her lessons are broadly based on the Ashtanga yoga format but they combine different Hatha yoga styles. The emphases are on correct alignments, correct breathing and breath/movement coordination leading to meditaion and deep relaxation. They are suitable for any age and ability.I'm here:

I am an experienced Level 4 Massage Therapist, Reiki Master and Yoga Therapist. In my treatments, I blend a holistic understanding of health and wellbeing along with the most current, evidence-based massage techniques, including Trigger Point work and Myofascial Release, to address chronic pain and leave you feeling blissfully relaxed and renewed.
Your massage will be tailor-made, just for you, taking into account all your needs of the day. If you need work on a certain area of your body, to address pain, tension or stiffness then Kristina will create the right massage for you to help bring ease and relief to this area. You may also wish to add a certain special element to your massage such as Hot Stones, Thai Foot Massage or Reiki. Massage can also be specifically adapted for pregnancy to ease aches and pains and support emotional wellbeing.

Hi, I’m Cher and I’m passionate about osteopathy and how it can provide long term symptom relief from a wide variety of ailments. I qualified from Swansea University with a first class honors degree in osteopathy in 2015, and have since enjoyed undertaking continued professional development courses in areas such as paediatrics, cranial osteopathy and dry needling. Since graduating I have worked as an associate in two well known and loved clinics in and around Yeovil, Somerset. During this time I was also honoured with a Rising Star Award from the Institue of Osteopathy. I have had a busy couple of years both in my professional and personal life and have recently had my second child. With two children under two I have returned to Devon to be closer to family.
I aim to provide individualised treatments and love to be able to alter my approach to suit each patient. I work with my patients to establish a treatment and rehab plan that works for them. The patient has a huge role to play in their healing journey and I aim to empower patients to take on this role with confidence.
My other passion in my life is yoga, I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years and have been lucky enough to study with many internationally known and loved yoga teachers. I finally undertook my teacher training in 2018 and have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the art of teaching.I'm here:

I have been practicing meditation techniques for over 30 years and am listed as a trained practitioner with both the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teacher Training Organisations and the Professional Register Of Accredited Teachers Of Mindfulness. A BSc. (Hons) graduate and a qualified secondary science teacher, I am also trained to deliver the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) PawsB Curriculum. I believe I bring a wealth of lifetime experience to my meditation teaching practice, including time spent at the Rockhill Hermitage and International Meditation Centre in Sri Lanka.
I am passionate about introducing the benefits of Mindfulness based Meditation to those who are seeking peace in a frantic world, where anxiety and stress, loneliness and depression are an all too common occurrence.I'm here:
